In the English classes, a party was held, the topic of which was “blind date”（相亲---高职高专英语课文1B）. Students were very active and excited to take part in the activity. Boys and girls didn’t hesitate to be involved in the activity. They enrolled in the activity with great enthusiasm. Through the party activity, they didn’t show any shyness. Instead, they just showed their interest in English, cooperation with their classmates, and their courage to overcome the difficulties.
During the “Blind Date”, the boys greeted the girls with the sentences we had learned at class in Unit one ---People, such as,“Nice to meet you.” “How do you do?” or “It’s so good to meet you. ” After the greeting, they began to introduce themselves to the partners, such as the names, family members, types of jobs, income, and so on. As they wanted to have a further relation with their partners, it is necessary for them to know more details about their partners’ information. Then, they chatted with each other, talked about their criteria and they asked each one’s families, jobs, hobbies, lives after work and so on. They were really addicted to the chatting.The boys hoped that they could leave a good impression on their partners. Last, they asked each other’ s mobile phone numbers, so that they could keep in touch with each other after the meeting. At last, the boys gave various kinds of gifts to girls, no matter they wanted to be good friends or not. The audience paid much attention to their classmates’ role play, and they were really very excited to watch the role play.
Though this party, the students’ enthusiasm on English has been aroused. They talked with each other in English. Through the activity, they have learned the art of English dialogue, understood the etiquette of the people in the west to meet each other, increased our knowledge and improved the oral English level.
